Audacity
If you need to record audio, than you need audacity. I used it to record a live show, and it worked extremely well. The input wasn't great so it don't sound good, but that is not Audacity's fault. Its Windows and Macintosh compatible, and its free! Thanks to Jake for showing it to me.

yeah i use audacity, it works well, plus since it's free ya can't really beat that deal!
