Fire Alarm?
There is an alarm going off at the computer lab at school. I wonder if that means that I should get out of the building?...
It's stopped now and someone said something about a door alarm. I think that I will live another day.

I think that is the "Not Hopeless" alarm. NCC had it installed due to the increase of post-secondary students. It goes off whenever someone who is not a hopeless-30-something-looser-who-has-been-taking-classes-for-8-years-but-has-no-degree walks by the sensor.
You're probably setting it off.
